hotline to hell

I watched this entire anime series this weekend, Hotline to Hell. Basically, what if you could take the person you hated more than anyone else and send them to hell? Immediately and without question. But with all things there must be retribution. In return for performing your vengeance Hell Girl (Enma Ai) must have restitution. When a curse is made, two graves are dug. You would go to hell as well. Well, that’s after you die.

Quite the interesting series, albeit pretty morbid. But it does make you think. If given that choice, what would you do? Think of the person who’s wronged you above all others and just may deserve to go to hell. It doesn’t matter the reason, and Ai isn’t the one that decides justification. You would not be punished, in this life anyways.

I thought about it. I’m sure you can imagine who breeds the most ill will from me. I feel punishment is deserved, whether it be just or not I don’t care. But I wouldn’t do it. Hate begets hate and can lead into a cycle of punishment, deserved or not. That is the ultimate lesson of the show, as well. Luckily, I don’t hate anyone anyways, though I do severely despise a few. Vengeance is not my deal, though, because I believe in karma. In my case, Karma is usually instant (at least it seems that way).

I recommend this anime to horror fans.
